What you'll Learn
Online, you'll review some basic scuba theory that you learned during your initial training. You'll review:
- Safe diving practices
- Dive planning fundamentals
- Problem management
- Breathing air at depth
- Recreational diving and dive tables: basic knowledge
- Recreational diving and dive tables: dive planning
After you complete the knowledge assessment, you go through the Confined Water Skills Preview. You review information about each skill, why it’s important, points to remember when performing the skill and a short video clip. Completing this section just before practicing in the pool is a great way to refresh your knowledge of how each skill is performed.
Then off to the pool we go! In the pool, you'll practice a few fundamental skills and practice any other skills you would like so that you're comfortable.
The Scuba Review course is particularly beneficial if you:
- Haven't dived in over a year and want to get into the water before a big vacation
- Want to review some of the "rules" of diving
- Were certified in some far off land and have some doubts about what you learned
The Scuba Gear You Use
You will use all the basic scuba gear you learned with. If you don't have your own scuba gear, ask us about discounts on brand new scuba gear! Divers West also has scuba gear rentals available. Just like when you were becoming a certified diver, you do need to provide your own personal gear such as mask, snorkel, and fins. You can find everything you need at Divers West and we will offer you a student discount on any gear purchases.
To take a Scuba Refresher course at Divers West, you must have
- a scuba diver certification( i.e. PADI, NAUI, LA County, SSI, CMAS, SDI, etc)
- If not a PADI certified diver, you must show proof of certification
- Be at least 12 years old
